Effective Date: March 2026
SloughApp has a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). We are committed to protecting children from all forms of abuse, exploitation, and harm on our platform.
1. Our Commitment
SloughApp is deeply committed to child safety. We recognise that child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) is a serious harm, and we take proactive and reactive measures to prevent, detect, and respond to any such content or behaviour on our platform.
These standards apply to all users of SloughApp, including those who create content, share content, or interact with others through our services.
2. Prohibited Content and Behaviour
The following are strictly prohibited on SloughApp and will result in immediate account termination and reporting to the appropriate authorities:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including images, videos, or written content
- Grooming — any attempt to build a relationship with a minor for the purpose of sexual exploitation
- Soliciting, sharing, or distributing sexual content involving minors
- Arranging or facilitating in-person meetings with minors for sexual purposes
- Any content that sexualises, exploits, or endangers children
- Using our platform to traffic, recruit, or lure minors
3. Age Restrictions
SloughApp is intended for users aged 13 and over. Users under the age of 13 are not permitted to create an account or use our services. We implement age verification measures and will remove accounts where underage use is detected.
4. Detection and Enforcement
4.1 Content Moderation
We employ a combination of automated systems and human review to detect and remove CSAE content. This includes:
- Automated scanning of uploaded media for known CSAM using PhotoDNA and similar hash-matching technologies
- Behavioural signals to detect potential grooming activity
- User reporting tools that allow any user to flag harmful content
- Regular audits of our detection systems and enforcement actions
4.2 Reporting
When CSAE content is detected or reported, we will:
- Immediately remove the content and suspend the account involved
- Report the content and relevant user data to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline as required by law
- Cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations
- Preserve evidence in accordance with legal requirements
5. User Reporting
We encourage all users to report any content or behaviour they believe may involve child sexual abuse or exploitation. You can report directly within the app using the "Report" function on any post, profile, or message, or by contacting us at:
Email: support@slough.app
All reports are treated seriously and reviewed promptly. We do not tolerate retaliation against users who report in good faith.
6. Cooperation with Authorities
SloughApp cooperates fully with law enforcement agencies and child protection organisations. We will provide relevant data and assistance when presented with lawful requests related to child safety investigations. We actively work with:
- The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF)
- The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC)
- Local law enforcement and safeguarding authorities
7. Education and Prevention
We are committed to ongoing efforts to educate our users and staff about online safety and CSAE prevention, including:
- Training our moderation and trust & safety teams on CSAE identification and response
- Providing in-app safety resources for parents, guardians, and young users
- Reviewing and updating our policies and technical safeguards regularly
8. Amendments to These Standards
We will review and update these standards periodically to reflect changes in law, technology, and best practice. Material changes will be communicated to users and reflected in the updated date at the top of this page.
